Shadow Minister for Women and Education Tanya Plibersek has avoided answering whether voters would have preferred a female candidate running for prime minister.
"It sounds like voters would have loved a female candidate for PM this time around – were they denied that unfairly?" Sky News host Laura Jayes asked.
“Well, I think the very clear choice is between three more years of Scott Morrison – who’s never there when you need him – and Anthony Albanese, who’ll show up, step up, and take responsibility,” Ms Plibersek replied.
“For me, there’s no contest on Saturday.”
