Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has given a powerful address to Australia’s parliament, thanking Australians for our weapons and aid.
The under-siege leader called on the world to do more to assist and asked for our government to send combat vehicles.
In his 16 minute address, Mr Zelensky said the worst of the 20th century was being revisited and warned Australia the distance between us and Russia was not a protectant.
Australia has committed to an addition $25 million in defence aid but Mr Zelensky made clear he would like our Bushmaster fighting vehicles, saying they would do better in Ukraine.
