Lismore’s Mayor Steve Krieg says clean-up of the flood ravaged town is going to “take time”.
“We’re moving between 3,000 and 3,500 tons of rubbish out of Lismore a day – that equates to one truck every minute dumping their rubbish at our temporary waste facility,” Mr Krieg told Sky News host Chris Kenny.
“We physically can’t move any faster … I know it’s frustrating for the residents.
“It’s just gonna take time.”
