Canavan vows to ‘keep up the fight’ for the blue-collar workers of Australia

Nationals Senator Matt Canavan has vowed to continue fighting for Australian workers, saying he thinks they are getting a "bad deal".

It comes as the Nationals have agreed to the Prime Minister’s plan for a net zero emissions target by 2050.

The details of the deal remain under wraps –with federal cabinet set to sign off on safeguards for regional Australians.

“I’m just going to keep up the fight for the blue-collar workers of this country because I think it’s a bad deal for them,” Mr Canavan said on Monday morning.

“Pursuing this green fantasy is only going to end in tears."

Mr Canavan also said there is “no doubt” there “are many of our supporters extremely upset with the decisions we’ve taken”.
