Transport sector ‘stuck in first gear’

Sky News Business Reporter Ed Boyd says the transport sector "is stuck in first gear" due to a lack of drivers, constant COVID testing, high beef and lamb prices and a massive demand for freight services.

"It threatens Australia’s economic bounce-back," Mr Boyd said.

Robert Cavanagh, of trucking businesses Cavanagh’s Transport and Stockmaster, spoke to Sky News Australia about how business has been impacted in recent times.

"We’ve seen probably a 25 per cent decline in our business in the last 18 months," Mr Cavanagh said.
