Victoria records 1,748 locally acquired cases, nine deaths

Victorian COVID Taskforce Commander Jeroen Weimar says the state has recorded 1,748 cases of COVID-19 and nine deaths.

Mr Weimar said two women in their 90s, a woman in her 80s, three women and two men in their 70s, and a man in his 60s had died.

He said 770 people are in hospital with 144 in intensive care and 90 on ventilators.

Mr Weimar said there were 72,858 tests processed yesterday with 89 per cent of results received the next day.
