New Zealand records first South Island COVID case in a year

New Zealand has reported its first COVID case on the South Island in a year.

The case is a person who flew from Rotorua in the North Island to Marlborough in the south which has been linked to the Waikato cluster.

New Zealand has recorded 104 new cases in the past 24 hours, with 91 in Auckland and 8 in the Waikato region.

Of those, 53 have been infectious in the community.
