Coalition backflips on climate after bitter opposition to ‘identical’ Labor policy

Former Labor Minister Stephen Conroy has slammed the Coalition government’s backflip on climate policy after years of being opposed to Labor’s “identical policy”.

“I look forward to those who have been bitter opponents of Labor’s policy, which Scott Morrison is now stealing en masse … campaigning as hard against this policy that Morrison is going to enforce on his party room, as hard as he campaigned against Bill Shorten in the last election.

“I even heard Josh Frydenberg saying there’s a cost to doing nothing –I remember watching Bill Shorten say that and be vilified by Josh Frydenberg.”
