Perrottet to decide on Fuller’s replacement

Sky News Political Editor Andrew Clennell says interviews have started for Mick Fuller’s position of New South Wales Police Commissioner.

Mr Fuller is due to depart next year after serving his five year term.

“There are three candidates being interviewed as I understand it – deputy commissioners Mick Willing, Mal Lanyon and Karen Webb,” Mr Clennell said.

“So no revisit of the Peter Ryan experiment when someone from outside New South Wales came under consideration to be the state’s top cop.

“Usually the department of premier and cabinet do the interviewing process and make a recommendation to the premier for commissioner.

“But ultimately the choice is up to the premier of the day. And that is now Dom Perrottet.”
