NRL Grand Final reduced to 75 per cent capacity

Queensland Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk has cut stadium capacity to the NRL Grand Final by 25 per cent as some parts of the state move towards stage two COVID restrictions.

It comes as the state recoded six new locally acquired cases.

Queensland Health authorities advised six regions in the state be moved to stage two restrictions from 4pm today, these are – Brisbane, Gold Coast, Moreton Bay, Logan, Townsville and Palm Island.

"It is going to be disappointing for people but we have to take the health advice. Health advice is to move to stage two. Stage two is as 75 per cent capacity," Ms Palaszczuk said at a media conference on Thursday.

"That is what it will be."
