UK trials world’s largest blood test for 50 types of cancer

The world’s largest cancer blood test trial has begun in the UK which could dramatically increase survival rates.

The Galleri test can be used to detect more than 50 types of the disease before any symptoms appear by looking for cancer cell DNA in a patients blood.

It’s hoped it will allow cancers to be identified at an earlier stage when there is a much higher survival chance.

Britain’s National Health Service is attempting to recruit 140 thousand volunteers – with half to have their blood tested immediately.
