People of Fowler want a candidate who ‘knows how the place ticks’

The PR Counsel’s Kristy McSweeney says she believes the people of the Fowler electorate want someone from western Sydney who “knows how the place ticks” to represent them.

The Sydney Morning Herald is reporting the local community is split on the decision to parachute Kristina Keneally into the safe Labor seat by pushing out local candidate Tu Le.

“Sydney is a city of many metropolises like no other place in Australia and I think the people of western Sydney want someone from western Sydney who knows how the place ticks,” she said.

“Now that doesn’t necessarily mean you have to be culturally diverse, that’s why they love Chris Bowen, that’s why they love Jason Clare, because they’re from western Sydney.”
