Seventeen-year-old swimmer Anastasia Pagonis did not slow down when she lost most of her sight at the age of 14, breaking the world record for the 400m freestyle S11 class twice at the 2020 Paralympic Games in Tokyo to win the United States’ first gold medal of the Games.
