New Zealand extends lockdowns amid dozens of new local COVID-19 cases

New Zealand’s lockdowns have been extended after it was announced on Monday the country had recorded 33 new local COVID-19 cases.

Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern announced Auckland will remain at Alert Level 4 until next Wednesday.

The rest of the country will remain at Alert Level 2 – with minor restrictions on movement.

All of New Zealand’s new local coronavirus cases were recorded in Auckland.
