Victoria records 450 new cases of COVID-19

Victorian Health Minister Martin Foley says the state has recorded 450 cases of COVID-19 on Friday with only 75 being linked to known clusters.

Mr Foley said those who contract the virus “continues to be disproportionately people under 50 years of age” including 856 people aged 19 or under.

He said Victoria had seen another record day for vaccinations as just over 87,000 jabs were administered in total and 58,000 bookings made yesterday.

“We are now at 65.2 per cent of the eligible Victorian population that is over 16 years of age who have received a first dose as we move closer to that 70 dose first vaccination milestone,” he said.
