Therapy dogs helping frontline workers through COVID pressures

Therapy dogs are helping frontline workers get through the pressures of COVID.

Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre in Victoria called on Lort Smith Animal Hospital to bring the dogs to nursing staff for much-needed stress relief.

"The dogs are a huge sense of joy and distraction from whatever’s going on on the day," said the centre’s Chief Nursing Officer Jac Mathieson.

While it is is too high-risk for the dogs to visit patients, they have been much appreciated by staff.
