Western and far-western NSW should ‘keep getting tested’ amid rising cases

NSW Deputy Premier John Barilaro says he is calling on regions in the state’s west and far west to get tested as the “concentration” of the rural and regional COVID outbreak is in these areas.

He said to 8pm last night, in the Far West Local Health District there were five new cases: four in Wilcannia and one in Broken Hill.

He further said there were 23 new cases in the Western NSW Local Health District: 18 in Dubbo, four in Orange and one in Brewarrina.

“Again, a call out to those communities to keep getting tested,” Mr Barilaro said.

“It’s where the concentration of the outbreak is in regional rural New South Wales and we’re really urging people to do so.”
