‘Unusual’ Morrison hasn’t had a call from Biden following Afghanistan withdrawal

Sky News political editor Andrew Clennell says it is a “little unusual” Scott Morrison has not received a call from US President Joe Biden following the withdrawal from Afghanistan.

“We normally get a readout; we haven’t had that readout … I think it’s a little unusual,” he told Sky News host Andrew Bolt.

“I don’t think the Americans have gone out of their way to mention us.

“Of course, at the G7, it wasn’t a bilat with Joe Bien for Scott Morrison, Boris Johnson was there as well.

“So, I think Scott Morrison’s closer to the Japanese leader and Boris Johnson, I’m not sure that he’s been able to strike up that rapport with Biden that he had with Trump, and I’d say this is a bit of a concern, but hopefully things improve.”
