Greg Hunt: It will be ‘very, very hard for anybody’ to separate from the national plan

Health Minister Greg Hunt says it will be very hard for any state to be separating from the national reopening plan amid the "inevitable pressures" and strong support from the Australian people to stick to it.

"Those 80 per cent marks, I think, it will be very, very hard for anybody to be separating," Mr Hunt said during a media conference on Thursday.

"Those deepest and most profound of human engagements as well as all the elements of commerce … all of these things that make up the nation will provide the inevitable pressures that mean ultimately we will be able to move again as a country.

"I understand that there will be debate along the way – but we have the strong support of the nation for the partnership that was agreed between the premiers and chief ministers and the Australian people … that we work towards this national plan."
