Chaotic Afghanistan withdrawal due to a ‘failure of intelligence’ across the world

It is clear there was a “failure of intelligence” across the world when it came to the chaotic withdrawal of troops from Afghanistan, says Sky News host James Morrow.

This comes as UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson’s Foreign Secretary Dominic Raab faces calls to resign after going on a family holiday to Cyprus in the days before Kabul fell to the Taliban.

Secretary Raab has revealed Five Eyes intelligence predicted there would be a steady deterioration in Afghanistan following the withdrawal of US troops and not a Taliban surge.

“What he is talking about here is a failure of intelligence that we saw across the world,” he said.

“We saw it in Washington; the Pentagon had no idea this was happening, clearly the Brits had no idea this was going to happen.”
