US carries out drone strike on ISIS-K threat in Kabul

The US has launched an air strike against what they described as an ‘imminent ISIS-K threat’ to Kabul’s international airport.

A spokesman for the Department of Defence says they hit a vehicle carrying multiple suicide bombers.

The strike came as President Biden was formally receiving the bodies of 13 service personnel killed in last week’s attack.

The last British soldiers from Afghanistan are expected back into the UK today and America’s mission to evacuate its people is also drawing to an end.
