Victoria’s COVID crisis is worsening, with 80 new cases recorded over the past 24 hours.
Of these, 13 are mystery cases and concerningly, only 39 were in isolation during their infectious period.
The virus is more apparent in younger people, with a third of cases made up by children and teenagers.
Further, 60 per cent of cases are under the age of 30 and only 5 per cent are over the age of 60.
This has prompted the state government to rethink its vaccination plan, with clinics expanding Pfizer eligibility to anyone over the age of 16, with those over 18 able to receive AstraZeneca.
