Victoria sees increased vaccine appointments, Pfizer eligibility expanded

Victorian Premier Daniel Andrews has made “significant” announcements which include an increase in available first-dose vaccination appointments, as well as an expanded eligibility for Pfizer vaccines.

“I’m very pleased to be able to announce that from 7am tomorrow morning, some 830,000 first dose appointments over the next four weeks, will be opening up,” Mr Andrews said.

“So they’ll be open from 7am tomorrow morning.

“They will all be filled, I’m, sure, and that will mean we’ll achieve our one million doses over five weeks.”

He also said that from tomorrow, all 16–39-year-olds across Victoria will be eligible for Pfizer.

“We now can be confident that the Polish doses are coming to us, they will arrive.”

He said this means while 16- and 17-year-olds are not eligible for AstraZeneca, those who are aged 18-39 will be eligible for both AstraZeneca and Pfizer.
