Under 40s to be offered Pfizer at AstraZeneca appointments from tomorrow

Victorian COVID-19 Testing Commander Jeroen Weimar says from tomorrow anyone who is under the age of 40 and is booked in for an AstraZeneca vaccine will also be offered Pfizer at their appointment.

“You do not need to change your appointment, please just turn up at your appointed slot, you will have the option of taking either Pfizer or AstraZeneca,” he said.

Mr Weimar said the online booking system will be able to take Pfizer appointments from tomorrow for 16- to 39-year-olds and 450,000 slots will be available.

“The call centre will be able to help you tomorrow with making bookings for those Pfizer appointments, it will not be able to help you today for those Pfizer appointments,” he said.

Victoria recorded 50 cases of COVID-19 overnight.
