‘Technology not taxes’: Energy minister hits back at critics over emissions reduction efforts

In the same time as Australia’s emissions have come down 20 per cent, China’s emissions have "increased by 200 per cent," according to Energy and Emissions Reduction Minister Angus Taylor.

"They’ve gone from 13 per cent of global emissions up to 28 per cent of global emissions – they’re approaching a third of global emissions," Mr Taylor told Sky News host Paul Murray.

Mr Taylor said critics of Australia’s emissions reduction efforts should "focus on where the emissions problems and challenges are".

"We’re getting on with the job, we’re doing it in a sensible way … technology not taxes."
