Saving lives and jobs are ‘important tasks as we continue through the pandemic’

Prime Minister Scott Morrison says the government’s handling of the COVID-19 pandemic has seen tens of thousands of lives saved and more than one million Australians return to work.

“The government has continued to implement our plans and our response to the COVID pandemic which has seen us save 30,000 lives with the help of Australians and their sacrifices all around the country,” he said during Question Time on Tuesday.

Mr Morrison said in addition to the one million Australians who have been able to get back to work, the government has been able to "continue to support" workers with more than $3 billion in support payments.

“These are important tasks as we continue through the COVID pandemic.”
