NSW records 753 new local COVID cases as state hits 6 million jab mark

Premier Gladys Berejiklian says New South Wales has recorded 753 new local COVID cases – as the state hits its target of 6 million jabs.

“I’m so pleased and grateful that New South Wales has already hit 6 million jabs,” Premier Berejiklian said during a media conference on Tuesday.

“Dr Chant and our team had conversations this morning about what’s possible now because we’ve hit that milestone.

“And I look forward to making the announcement on Thursday or Friday this week as to what fully vaccinated people will be able to do from the month of September because of the target that we’ve set.

“That equates to about 60 per cent of our population across the state having at least one dose and around 32 per cent of our population double dosed.”
