Elimination strategy ‘simply not achievable’

Business Council of Australia CEO Jennifer Westacott says the Commonwealth can’t keep footing the bill each time a premier slams their borders shut.

This comes as Treasurer Josh Frydenberg threatened to pull money if states back out of the deal to start opening up when vaccinations increase.

“This idea of elimination … it is simply not achievable,” Ms Westacott told Sky News Australia.

“We must be past $350 billion with the federal government basically propping up the economy.”
