We have entered a ‘dangerous era’ where journalists ‘shut down’ each other

The Institute of Public Affairs’ Director of Policy Gideon Rozner says we have “entered a very dangerous era” where journalists are “trying to shut down” other journalists.

The Press Council last week ruled Johannes Leak’s cartoon of Kamala Harris, published in the Australian, as prejudiced to “women, and particularly women of colour”.

Mr Rozner said there is something “very wrong about a press council, effectively a self-regulatory body of the free press, trying to shut down opinions it doesn’t like”.
