Staff at South Australia hospitals ‘call for help’ amid surge in ‘violent’ incidents

Sky News host Peter Gleeson says "violent and threatening" incidents are rising in South Australia’s hospitals as staff are forced to call for urgent help to deal with dangerous patients.

The Advertiser is reporting staff have been calling at a rate of 36 times per day due to a rise in violent incidents involving dangerous patients.

"I’d imagine that goes into the link between this violence and of course drug addiction – that’s often cited as a reason for this," Mr Gleeson said.

Mr Gleeson discussed the issue with 6PR broadcaster Oliver Peterson.
