Scottish National Party and the Greens agree on new power-sharing deal

Scottish National Party and the Greens have come to an agreement on a new power-sharing deal which will mark the first entry into government for the Greens.

The deal will grant the Scottish government the numbers it needs to pass legislation – including a new independence referendum bill.

The corporation agreement still needs to be ratified by Green party members who have until next weekend to assess the details and the environmental credentials of their new partners in government.

The agreement has attracted fresh criticism.
