NSW records 825 new COVID-19 cases and three deaths

NSW Premier Gladys Berejiklian says the state has 825 new local cases of COVID-19 and three deaths were recorded overnight.

“Unfortunately, overnight, we did see an increase number of cases – 825 … in the community, with at least 58 of those infectious during the entire time,” Ms Berejiklian said.

“Tragically, three people lost their lives overnight, a man in his 80s, a man in his 90s, and a female in her 90s and we extend our deepest, deepest sympathies to their loved ones.”

She said suburbs of concern primarily remain the same in western and southwestern Sydney, with particular focus on Blacktown and its surrounding suburbs, Auburn, Gilford, Merrylands, Yagoona, and Greenacre.

She said regions in the far northwestern part of the state also remain a “grave concern”.
