WA bans all travel from NSW

Western Australia has classified New South Wales as an ‘extreme risk’, banning all travel, including on compassionate grounds.

The rules will be enforced from 12:01am on Thursday August 26 and means residents have just over five days to return home.

Currently, to enter WA people must have a permit and show a negative COVID-19 test.

There is no end date set for the new border restrictions.
