‘Welcome rhetoric’ on public service coming from Albanese

Herald Sun journalist Caleb Bond says he hopes the “welcome rhetoric” from Anthony Albanese regarding public service is “matched by Scott Morrison”.

The Canberra Times is reporting the Labor Leader has sent a warning out to the top of Canberra’s bureaucracy, refusing to guarantee the jobs of public service chiefs if Labor wins power at the next federal election.

Mr Bond said this is an "extraordinary” thing for Albanese to say.

“This is welcome rhetoric,” he told Sky News host Peter Gleeson.

“We don’t need a massive public service.”
