Canada is a model Australia can aspire to in vaccination race

The Centre for Independent Studies’ economist and senior fellow Robert Carling says we should look to emulate Canada in the vaccine rollout.

Mr Carling says it took Canada approximately eight weeks to reach the “equivalent” of our 80 per cent target from the 39 per cent first dose stage Australia is currently at.

Mr Carling argues the vaccine needs to be incredibly accessible to Australians in order to replicate Canada’s success, to “give the vaccine-hesitant and the vaccine reluctant no excuse”.

“It has to be made as easy as possible with as many outlets and possibilities to get a vaccine.”
