Morrison will ‘win in a landslide’ if the next election is fought on the economy

If the next federal election is fought on the economy then Scott Morrison will "win in a landslide," according to former Victorian Liberal Party President Michael Kroger.

Discussing the issues facing the Coalition regarding COVID-19 and the vaccine rollout, Mr Kroger told Sky News host Catherine McGregor "it’s hard" for Morrison at the moment.

"But this is only going to last a few more months," he said.

"When you get to that 70 per cent, 75 per cent (vaccination rate), this issue will start to die.

"And then when there’s a void, it’ll be filled by something, and that something will be the future of the Australian economy, and when you start talking about the future of the Australian economy you then get a very clear choice between the two groups."
