Victoria testing dozens after potential exposure on flight from Sydney

Victorian health authorities are testing dozens of passengers who were on board a flight with two COVID positive women from Sydney who were travelling with the wrong permits.

The two women arrived in Melbourne holding green zone permits and were intercepted by security before being taken to hotel quarantine where they tested positive.

“There are 46 people who were on the flight QF471, they’ve all been contacted, they’ll all be contacted, they’ll all be going into 14 days of isolation, they’ll all, of course, be tested,” Victoria COVID-19 Commander Jeroen Weimar said.

Concern is also growing within Victoria with rising mystery cases including in Melbourne’s north, sparking fears of an extended lockdown.
