Victoria Health tracking passengers after two positive cases discovered onboard

Victorian health authorities are attempting to track down dozens of passengers who were on a flight to Melbourne after two COVID-19 positive women from Sydney were onboard.

The women had the wrong border permits to be allowed entry into the state but attempted to enter on Monday on Qantas flight QF471.

The pair were believed to be on green zone permits but New South Wales is currently an extreme risk zone for Victoria.

There are questions as to why the permits were not correctly checked before the women were allowed onto the flight and also why they were not immediately turned around.

There are currently 64 passengers who are currently in isolation, and the women have been fined $5000 each.
