‘Continuing good news’ in Queensland with only four new local cases

Queensland Deputy Premier Steven Miles says south-east Queensland has received “continuing good news” as the state records four new local cases.

“We’ve got continuing good news here in the south-east, just a handful of cases, all linked, and all in home quarantine for their entire infectious period. Mr Miles said.

“That’s a fantastic result.”

He applauded the efforts of those involved in opening the state’s first mass vaccination hub.

“I’ve certainly waited a long time to see this. Thousands of people able to get their COVID-19 vaccinations at mass vaccination hubs like the one here at the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre.

“I want to congratulate the staff of BCEC and Queensland Health, who’ve put together such a fantastic, smooth program, allowing people to safely and conveniently get their vaccines.”
