Cuomo the only one who didn’t see the ‘inevitably’ of his resignation

Sky News contributor Michael Ware says Andrew Cuomo was the only one who did not see the “inevitably” of his resignation as New York governor following sexual harassment allegations.

The 63-year-old has denied all wrongdoing after a month-long independent investigation concluded he had sexually harassed 11 women.

“There was a real inevitability about this decision to resign and I think it was only Andrew Cuomo himself who didn’t get a sense of that inevitability earlier,” Mr Ware told Sky News Australia.

“Perhaps in the week it’s taken since the report was dropped that outlined all these allegations, that’s what he needed to arrive at this place.

“The way I’ve been putting it is that resignation watch is finally over, he’s come to terms with the reality because he was abandoned by everyone in his own party, from the president of the United States on down.”
