COVID case closes two schools in regional NSW

Two schools in regional New South Wales have been locked down after a member of the Dubbo community tested positive for COVID.

Dubbo West Public School and Macquarie Anglican Grammar School have been closed for deep cleaning.

The positive case was identified after the individual became symptomatic on August 9 and presented for testing on August 10.

Dubbo MP Dugald Saunders said nine close contacts who have been identified to date are in isolation and either have been tested or will be tested as soon as possible.

Investigations and contact tracing are continuing as it is not yet known how the transmission occurred.
