Morrison pushing US to send unused COVID vaccines to Australia

Employment Minister Stuart Robert says the federal government is having "continual conversation right around the world" on getting access to extra vaccine doses to Australia.

The Australian reports Prime Minister Scott Morrison made "urgent appeals" to President Joe Biden for access to its estimated 26 million vaccine doses that are unused and about to expire in the US.

Mr Robert did not confirm whether Mr Morrison had made a plea to President Biden but said the government will leave "no stone unturned" when it comes to "maximising the amount of vaccination for our population".

"We are all in this together … it’s fundamental that we get as much vaccine into arms as possible," he said.
