COVID-19 has ‘improved focus on healthcare outside hospital’

Company ‘ResMed’ has increased its operating profit by 12 per cent, with CEO Mick Farrell saying the COVID-19 pandemic has “improved the focus on healthcare delivered outside the hospital”.

“Healthcare should be delivered in a lower-cost, lower-acuity setting preferably in the home,” Mr Farrell told Sky News Australia.

“Maybe a skilled nursing facility, home health, hospice, private care home duty.

“That’s where ResMed has been investing a lot.

“COVID has shifted a lot to where ResMed was already going: improving respiratory health awareness, driving digital health and delivering healthcare outside the hospital.”
