‘We’ve not really been a country’ for the best part ‘of almost two years’

Sky News host Paul Murray says it’s nice that the Olympic Games are on, but we have “not really been a country” for the best part of almost two years now.

It comes as state premiers have rejected calls for additional Pfizer vaccines to be sent to New South Wales amid the ongoing outbreak in the state.

Discussing the issue, Labor MP Joel Fitzgibbon said, "every state, and in particular every capital city, is vulnerable".

"By redirecting vaccines from one city to another, you extend an invitation for a new breakout, a new round of infections in another capital city," Mr Fitzgibbon said.
