Victorian Industry Supports Minister Martin Pakula says there will be an additional $282.5 million in cash grants available for Victorian businesses affected by lockdowns.
Mr Pakula said the total amount given to businesses for the lockdown is now $484 million and “just under $1 billion” when combined with the May and June lockdown.
“The support that we’re announcing today will likewise be automatically paid as a top up, $4,200 in additional support through the Licensed Hospitality Venue Fund and $2,800 through the Business Cost Assistance Program,” he said.
Mr Pakula said businesses not registered for GST or who turn over less than $75,000 were eligible for the business support payments and also for the COVID-19 Disaster payment if GST registered.
“The total support throughout the pandemic for business by the government is now in the vicinity of $7 billion, I understand that for businesses that are doing it really tough every bit of support is important but it also doesn’t cover all of their losses.”
