Member for McMahon Chris Bowen says the people of Fairfield are now “paying a huge price” due to the New South Wales government’s failure to act quickly to stop the COVID outbreak.
He said his community is “suffering” as a result of tightened restrictions which could have been prevented.
"My community is suffering pretty hard, pretty badly, here because the government didn’t want to lock down Bondi at that time," he told Sky News Australia.
"If you move quickly you can stop these situations.
"The original breach wasn’t in Fairfield, it somehow got to Fairfield, it somehow got into my local government area and now we’re paying a huge price."
