New rules on mask wearing have been announced for Victoria as health authorities consider a snap lockdown to prevent another COVID-19 outbreak.
From today people aged 12 years and over must wear face masks in public indoor locations – including all workplaces and secondary schools.
They are also required in outdoor settings where people are unable to socially distance.
A three-day lockdown is also on the cards after 11 new cases emerged from two separate outbreaks in Melbourne’s north and west.
Most of the cases are linked to Sydney removalists who were working at the Ariele apartments in Maribyrnong.
Eight senior government ministers, including Premier Daniel Andrews, will hold talks again this morning after last night’s meeting.
