Labor MP Chris Bowen says it’s unfair to subject workers in Fairfield to lengthy waits for compulsory COVID tests, and has called for the state government to increase testing capacity in Fairfield "with the same speed they put policing in".
“The people of Fairfield are happy to get tested. But to tell the people of Fairfield that they have to get tested every three days, essential workers, but they’ve been waiting six hours, eight hours,” Mr Bowen said.
“The people of Fairfield have responded magnificently, they’ve responded to every single request, direction from governments but it’s a two-way street. You’ve gotta put the resources back.
“The state government needs to put testing in here with the same speed that they put policing in here earlier in the week.”
